I did not test this in USER POINTS (your version) and I must apologize if you have already fixed this. I am working on my project and had to use these buttons. Rather than check your version of user points, I just slapped this report together, which I didn't think would be so detailed.


There are two green buttons at top of the AUP Users List (in the backend).
1. Bonus
2. Custom Points

I found neither worked as I expected. They acted like they were accepting the instigation and action from the admin user. However, no points were added.

Turns out I had to publish these, and configure them in the RULE view for each rule.

ISSUE 1: BONUS BTTN. There should be a confirmation given or popup - for example,
. . . a. Bonus was UNPUBLISHED, yet the BUTTON should have reported such when it was clicked.
. . . b. Bonus was PUBLISHED, but amt of bonus was set to zero. There could be an IF-TEST that if it is set at zero, to remind the admin user of this and that it needs to be changed in the RULE for this button.
. . . c. Bonus configured correctly, so when button is clicked, a popup should appear saying x amt was given to the users' names. Or i guess you could leave the user names off since this can be done in bulk. or a simple line-item report could be produced so it can be confirmed in one fell-swoop.

ISSUE 2: CUSTOM POINTS BTTN. There should be a confirmation given or popup - for example,
. . . a. Bonus was UNPUBLISHED, yet the BUTTON should have reported such when it was clicked. Instead a form opened to specify the # of points. Then when this is entered and submitted, nothing happens. But it would be assumed something did happen. This form should not pop up if the rule is unpublished.
. . . b. If configured correctly, so when CUSTOM POINTS form is submitted, a popup should appear saying x amt was given to the users' names. Or i guess you could leave the user names off since this can be done in bulk. or a simple line-item report could be produced so it can be confirmed in one fell-swoop.

NOTE: Before a success msg is displayed, it would be optimal if the system could verify the number of points was successfully added, as a matter of error trapping.

I imagine other rules have similar problems and I do plan to check these.
Steps To Reproduce1. GO TO
. . . BACKEND COMPONENTS > USERPOINTS > USER LIST
2. select a user by checking their checkbox
3. for BONUS BUTTON...
. . . . a. Click and see what happens.
. . . . b. Look at that user's point values to see if there was an increase.
. . . . c. If nothing, check that RULES configuration, make sure:
. . . . . . . . . (1) it is published, and
. . . . . . . . . (2) there is an amt to be granted.

Additional InformationBONUS POINTS rule:
 
Would be helpful to make the default description corrected like so:

"Assigns set amount of bonus points to specific users from backend (Components -> AltaUserPoints -> Users -> Choose user -> Bonus)

Bonus points and Custom points are not available unless the respective rule is published. UserPoints has been changed so that the buttons do not appear unless they can be used.
